Appleton's pure wool is spun and dyed in the UK, established since 1835 Appleton's is one of the leading produces of embroidery wools.
There are 59 Colour Ranges with 421 Shades, available in two thicknesses, Tapestry – 4 ply (the thicker of the two) and Crewel – 2 ply (the finer). The lower the shade numbers in the range the paler the colour – for most of the ranges.
